Everyone just loves to say that we all should work hard in life so that when we finally got the gold, we can all look back and see how far we’ve come. But how about those of us who seem to have gotten stuck in the middle, those of us who dared to dream big, however despite all the hard work and thousands of wishes upon shooting stars, things still didn’t work out and all we got are pats on the back and participation medals. Can we not look back and celebrate, too?

Little Wins ( Hugs)

I will. I’d look back and celebrate all the little steps I braved to take. I’ll be happy reminiscing the moments when I felt like I can be anything and anyone who I want to be and actually tried. I’d smile on the moments when I stumbled, knowing that I’ll get up somehow and be a better person.

I think the problem is we only feel the urge to look back when we reached our dreams that a lot of us tend to think of ourselves as failures. I think we should do it more often. I think that looking back and realizing how the little adventures, how all the little steps we took helped us and those around us in a way, gives the heart a sense of contentment and joy. And I’m pretty sure it’s worth more than any gold medal.
